#PAR with sound
3 messages in this thread
Dear Greg,
I'm trying to use my PAR to record sound and video at the same time from a VTR
source, in Windows 3.1.
The sound card seems to work fine with the WAV editor. I can record and play
the sound no problem.
But when I try to record with the PAR recorder, it records video but no audio,
and says "Cannot open audio device" or something like that. (Sorry no exact
message but my machine is in the middle of a 3DS thing right now.)
Can you point me in the right direction for solving this problem? I have NT but
it gave me trouble when I tried to configure my sound card, so I went back to
regular Windows.
If there's anyone in the Massachusetts area that wants to make a few bucks by
coming down and helping me set this up, please jump in. I have a lot of stuff
I've bought in the last few weeks and these configuration nightmares are
driving me nuts.

Hi Michele,
PMJI, but are you sure you have the path for the sound set to go to a local
drive and not the PAR? That kind of sounds like the error you'd get if you were
trying to do that. Other than that I can't think why it wouldn't work. Let me
know what you do to get it working.

Hi there! Spending money on hardware, I see! Is this Bucket Studios?

Good for you! I assume that you mean toe PAR records the video and your
Windoze soundcard records the audio to your C: hard disk? :^)

Hmmm, just what I like, a reproducible problem! :^) Where are you saving your
files? Try it again, and if it still fails, write down the _exact_ message for
me!
