I just got the Animator STudio 1.1 upgrade for Win95. I'm just wondering, is
1.1 also supose to run under NT?

no, it is not supposed to run under NT. r1.1 was written specifically for the
Windows 3.x and Win95 OSs. however, there have been reports than many have been
able to run r1.1 under 3.51.

I will confirm that. I've used it very successfully on NT 3.51, although I
haven't stressed it as much as I do on Win95.

John, did you have to go through any particular setup procedures to get AAS
stable other than a standard install (for our viewing public) <ggg>

I contine to use AAS 1.1 in NT everyday. However, I gotta stress that 1.1 has
been tested primarily for Win95. There are still some issues that need to be
worked out in order for AS to work _fully_ in NT.
Sorry if some of this has been mentioned already, but I'm just hopping around
threads. 🙂

yes… we have stressed that r1.1 was not written for NT… but it does seem
very stable under NT so far. i've had several postings from the locals who use
NT that they are happy with it so far and boy is it fast!
will you be at Autodesk University this next week? would enjoy visiting.

This is *very* confusing. Depending on who you talk to AS will/will not/maybe
a little run on NT. I have the update version, but not the Windows 95 version
yet. Are you saying that I could install that one under NT? Can I also use
the 95 (IF that one *ever* gets here) version with NT too? I would really
like to get everything eventually operating under NT and just skip Windows 95
if at all possible. You think that day will ever come? And why in the world
did Autodesk go in the NT direction with MAX and 95 with AS? (That was just
wondering outloud)

AAStudio 1.1 was not tested on Windows NT. NT customers seem to be reporting
that the 1.1 version runs on NT for them. But Autodesk has to say it's not
supported if a bug is reported that causes AAStudio to fail on NT but not on
Win95, for example.

800/538-6401 and ask them to send you the 1.1 version.

is called AAStudio 1.1. This is the only one that has half a chance of working
under NT for you. I'd say give it a go! If you run into a problem, maybe we
can resolve it without it being an NT issue.

r1c0 (original) … no go.
r1c1 (first patch) … no go.
r1.1 (win95 compatible) … possibly.
