This is the text content of the SDL ad, uploaded in reponse to Chris Shepard's
query – and to anyone else who is interested.
I make no apologies for any typo's in the following as I should have been doing
something else at the time! 😉
BTW – This is the text which accompanies the picture of the beast (fridge?)
currently residing as A4000.IFF in 'News & Reviews'.

Never has a computer been more flexible. The powerful Amiga A4000T bridges the
divide between home and business computing. Equally effective as a standalone
worstation or as part of a local area network, it features pre-emptive
multi-tasking and high specification proprietary graphics, video and sound
systems. Yet, it can also emulate current PC technology throught the use of a
PC emulator.

THE LATEST IN 32-BIT TECHNOLOGY
The premier Amiga A4000T system is the most significant technological
advancement in the Amiga series since its introduction in 1985. Based on
Motorola 68040 and 68060 32 bit processors, it shares the multitasking of
earlier Amigas and is available with the latest and most powerful graphics and
video application software.
ADVANCED GRAPHICS ARCHITECTURE
The A4000T's Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) chipset provides the Amiga's
display with modes of up to 262,144 on-screen colours from a palette of 16.8
million. On-screen displays of 800×600 pixels or 1280×512, (more with
overscan), are further supported with 2 dedicated video slot and up to 5
expansion slots for power intensive use. Such power brings desktop
photo-realism to the Amiga 4000T's graphics, video, animation and
presentations.
PC EMULATION AND CONNECTIVITY
Compatability with documents and graphics from other systems is supported in
two ways. First, for IBM PC compatible environments, the Amiga 4000T allows
easy file transfer between MSDOS and Amiga Environments, which can be enhanced
and extended to running PC applications with optional PC emulator. Second, as
a networked computer in the Novell environment, the Amiga is fully supported,
both as a terminal and file server able to share resources with other machines.
CONFIGURATION
The Amiga A4000T comes with 6Mb RAM as standard and a 1.2Gb SCSI hard disk
drive. It includes a 1.76Mb 3.5" floppy disk drive, detachable 94/96 key
keyboard, 2 button mouse, AmigaDOS v3.1 and manuals. A monitor is required to
complete the system.

Although, as far as I know you could be based in LA!
I've just given them a ring, their 4000T/040's won't be in until 8th November
and the 060 will be available from them sometime in Feb.
I was on the phone to Scala UK yesterday (the people who we buy all our Amiga's
from) they say that they haven't got any A4000T's in yet, and getting hold of
an 060 chip is like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Fortunately for us, there is still a small reserve pool of 4000's (although for
a while, 4000's were being built out of anything you lay your hands on – Ice
Cream containers, etc… ) In our neck of the woods, Amiga's are selling like
hot cakes and they're being plastered all over the UK & Europe.

Motorola is having some production problems. They are trying to make them, but
things are not going right. Basically, they made a whole run of them. Tested
them… Unreliable as hell. They're trying, I think, its not like they're
"holding back" like some suggest. They are having technical difficulties in
ramping up mass production of 68060's. pleeze be patient!!….:->

I'm being as patient as I can be…it's hard when you really want a new
machine….;/
I hope they fix whatever the problem is; I just can't justify buying an '040
T and then upgrading later….

I know. Its also hard when you have money!! I had a few hundred, wanted a
Cybervision, and couldn't afford a whole one… so I belw all my money on a
mongo size hard drive. Needed one sure, but man its hard to wait. Luckily for
me I can't affort a 4000/60T now so I don't have to drool about 68060s.

I know, I keep thinking I should buy some software, maybe a larger
harddrive, a new 28.8 modem, etc. etc. etc.. But I've got to keep things in
line if I'm to get a new box soon.

They're not Amiga Specific, but do have a good range of peripherals.

That's true. A Cosysop of my local BBs ordered a 1260 Turbo for his 1200 but
they can't get the cards out because Moto has no 060's. And he wanted to show
us that thing at the Usermeeting next Friday 🙁 That's really bad!! But
therefore there will be some 040's and some PC Users who we will convert 🙂

Well, the only good point about this for me is that I'll actually have the
money for a 4000T/060 when it's released in Feb. Is that UK, US, or both as
far as the date?

It is likely that the release date is connected to the supply of 060's (and a
few other outstanding issues) so I would hope that the release date applies to
both Europe and the US.
BTW, did you see my post regarding the A4000T spec? It was in reply to your
query, but I addressed it to 'ALL'
