I was downloading ap.lha using Ymodem. At block 143,bytes 146432, the data,dcd
and oh lights on my modem went out and the whole system died. I have had to
re-log-on to be able to do this message. The portion received will be saved to
my dh1. Please advise what causes this problem and will I have to start from
scratch or just from where it cut out
Peter,
I don't know what caused your system to quit during a download but I suspect
you'll have to start over from scratch again with the d/load. Sorry you had
problems.

So am I. I am setting up a test program to research the protocols on NComm. The
full message on this will be adressed to Betty Clay but no doubt anyone can
access it for information.
Peter,
Many things could have caused the problem with your download – faulty phone
lines, a problem in your computer, or in CompuServe's computer – lots of
different things. If you can use B+ protocols, the download can restart at the
place where you left off. Othewise, it will have to start all over again. I'm
sorry you had problems.

I'm glad you said IF. When you have read my other messages you'll see what I
mean.

Hallo Betty,
thats new to me. If I have a crash during a download, AP starts everytime from
the beginning. I was wondering about this, because with several mailboxes it
works as you discribed. How can I make shure that AP is using the B+ protocols
or have you any suggestion what the fault can be?

Volker,
AutoPilot may be starting the downloads over again – but B+ protocols are quite
capable of re-starting. If you want to re-start a download, have you tried it
in HandsOn? And AutoPilot definitely uses BPlus protocols as default.
