Bob, Many times…a simple cleaning of the floppy will take care of the problem….other times, it's not the floppy drive that's bad, but one of the 8520 CIA chips in the computer that has gone bad. Don

With my luck that could be the source of the problem. I understand CIA chips are difficult, if not impossible to replace on the surface mounted board. Bob, I don't believe the 8520's are surface mounted…but I certainly could be wrong. Don
