Anyone use PC Task? Anygood? Don't bother? Get a 486 card? I need just a few PC
programs & don't want to waste $ on one.

Depends on what programs you need to run. If you have DOS programs, it's fine.
If you need Windows programs, PC Task (latest version) is a 286 emulator, and
runs VERY slowly in Windows. Some programs won't run at all.

Thanks…I guess I should get a card or build a clone. I have a 286 that was
given to me to upgrade…I then need a monitor switch box & space on desk,
yuck. I already have a 4000 + a 1000 there…John, the resident Luddite uses it
as a word processor <G> & bitches because it isn't like a typewriter!!!!
OK, emulation mavin, which card? I need to get on the NET via FirstClass server
for a union BBS, plus a strictly IBM/clone theatrical database & I want to use
some programs on CDs, Deloran street map & phones.

The Bridgeboard is probably the most reliable, if you can find one. (Try
secondhand.) The Golden Gate is available in Europe (GMR Productions has a few,
too, I think), but serial communication is dicey, and it takes over the bus
when it runs, which means no fax on the Amiga side, no screenblankers, etc.
The best in the long run will probably be the Emplant, but right now it's very
slow, especially for running Windows.
