I need a replacement TBC for the Toaster running a 2000. A) Will TBS Plus work
in my machine? 2) Is it a single channel? 3)Who won the World Series in
1955? M. Holloway

Michael –
I enjoyed your message. Yes, the GVP TBC Plus will work in your Amiga 2000.
Quite well. The TBC sits in a Zoro II slot and works as a frame grabber as
well as a special effects generator. You can actually have 2 or even 3 inputs
into the TBC plus and "hot switch" between the 3 of them. It takes some wiring
to get this going, however. It is as nice (if not nicer) than the DPS TBC IV,
and at $450 its a bargan.
The Yankees, perhaps?

Yankee's, I don't know, actually I can't stand organized Millionare sports.
The TBS plus is a single channel TBC, Yes? I understand the "hot switch"
ability, but don't tell my cable company. I need a device that will let me
manipulate 2 synchronized video streams, being fed into the Toaster. I believe
I would need yet another TBS plus in order to, say, dissolve between 2 video
sources. Taking into consideration the plethora of equipment and crossover
video/techno jargon, am I correct in my assumption that "ONE" TBS plus will NOT
let me dissolve between 2 video sources being fed into the Toaster? Confused?
Good, so am I. Here is another question for you; what is the capitol city of
Missouri, no peeking! M. Holloway

You're tough. I believe that Jefferson city is the capital, but I'm not sure.
You are correct – you would need 2 TBC's to do switching on a toaster. Either
that, or 1 TBC and a live camera. I've got 3 TBCs in my toaster system, and I
use one as a black burst generator to time the system. The first toaster input
sets the timing. If the signal stops or gets lost, the toaster goes haywire
and everything looks funny.

Steve:
Yes, it is Jefferson City, good call!
As for the TBC, it is as I suspected. I am currently using the digital frame
synchronization device built into the Panasonic AVE5 digital mixer. It is so
very solid that I have no problems what so ever with losing sync. The problems
is it's output, the S/N ratio leaves quite a bit to be desired. Thank you for
your patient responses but currently the budget will not allow for the purchase
of 2 TBCs. If my Christmas promotions generate enough sales I will be sure and
contact you. As far as your concerned, hopefully you will have sold it by
then. Anyway, once again thanks for the input.

I use two TBC Plus' in my Toaster machine (you mean the GVP brand, right?).
It's dual channel input, but only one channel output. Lastly… it was the
Cubs wasn't it? <VGB> BTW, I'm not selling; I was just answering your
questions. Hope you don't mind.
