#1200 baud modem for M100
4 messages in this thread
I saw an article in the current issue of Byte about a new modem chip. Has
anyone made available a small 1200 BPS modem for the M100 or M200 internally
(or external, but very small for portability)? Seems like this chip would do
it. — John Merritt CIS 72747,171 /exit
There is one that was just announced, that plugs into the RS232 port, and
offers tone dialing and 1200 baud. Sells for about $250, and is the size of a
cigarette pack. From the same folks that make the touchbase modem for the NEC.
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE TIP ON THE 1200 BAUD CIGARETTE PACK FROM TOUCHBASE.
I'll give them a call. Now, if only there were a ROM version of FORTH, such as
WRITE-ROM or LUCID that could create a crash-FORTH development environment for
the M100/200–Any word of this? Thanks again- John O. Merritt, Williamsburg,

Well, you can check the files FORTH.REV and FORTH.UPD in DL6 for some
information…. Also look over Rick Mendosa's compilation of commercial
programs available for the 100 in the file SOFTWR.100 (also in DL6).
Good Luck.
