Attention all of you!
I have just uploaded a copy of Bob Pariseau's "SETLACE". It is a utility
to force the AMIGA into 400 line resolution, independent of the graphic
resolution used! If you have a copy of Lattice C download it and enjoy it!!!!

Roy, thanks for UPLing that. I was trying to, but of course I am having great
difficulties doing any UP/DOW.
The only problem with the program is that it really shows up the flicker with
text, etc. I did some fiddling around, and found that once you run SETLACE,
ABasiC leaves it alone, and runs in Interlaced mode.

Hi Larry.
Are you using the Amiga RGB monitor? The reason I'm asking is that I
understand that the flicker in interlaced mode is caused by the fact that the
refresh rate in the monitor is only 60 times a second, standard NTSC.
Converting a 1902 monitor to analog RGB is cheaper than buying the Amiga RGB,
but maybe the Amiga RGB has the faster refresh rate (120 per second, I think)
to prevent flicker in interlaced mode.

'Fraid not Tim. The Amiga monitor has a standard refresh rate, ie. 60 Hz.
I don't know what the specs are on the tube in the 1902, but I understand it
really does the job well. I've heard that a converted 1902 is really a 1080,
but I can't personally vouch for this.
It was a good thought though.

Your welcome Larry! I'm afraid that unless we all want to change NTSC
standards, we'll continue to suffer (or tolerate) that damned flicker!!!!
