dHi: I have downloaded the Jpad.bas program from d/l 7. When I run it I get
"out of workspace in line 65". I have 512k and my stack is set to 10000 but
setting a larger stack does not seem to be the answer. Any ideas will be
appreciated.
Lowell, I just let basic assign the stack value and everything works fine. One
thing to check would be to make sure that when you go into basic that you don't
leave any tasks in process i.e. cli windows, clock, etc That should do the

I ALTERED MY STARTUP SEQUENCE & COMBINED CLI & ABASIC ON ONE DISK. EVERYTHING
ELSE: CLOCK, INTUITION, PREFERENCES, ETC ARE GONE. WHEN I DID THIS I FOUND
THAT ABASIC BOMBED OUT UNLESS I SET THE STACK IN THE STARTUP-SEQUENCE. ABASIC
IS ENABLED FROM CLI BY TYPING ABASIC AS A COMMAND. POSSIBLY ALL THIS HAS
SOME EFFECT ON MEMORY. WHAT DO YOU THINK? – BEST, TML
Before going into ABasic, make sure all other windows are closed. If you
have been running other Basic prog. enter "clr" before trying to run jpad.
That took care of the problem for me.
AFTER A LITTLE THOUGHT, IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT THAT MY METHOD OF COMBINING CLI
AND ABASIC ON ONE DISK WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A CLI WINDOW OPEN. WHEN I MOVED JPAD
TO A CONVENTIONAL AMIGA-EXTRAS DISK IT RAN JUST FINE. ITS AN EXCELLENT PROGRAM.
