#PAR backup!

you are right. In the past we never considered keeping all the Targa's. But such a small handsome Ani file; you just can't delete it willingly. However what we do is export the ANI back to the normal hard-disk en copy it to a DAT-tape. This way we never encountered any frame limit. Do other people have problems working this way or just when they export direct to backup tape?

I don't know about other people but the practice here is to keep the PAR drive fairly clean. I also dump ani files to the dos drive for temporary storage during a project. I might have as many as 3 G of files for a project and have to store elsewhere. Fortunately most of my files are under 500 frames. When I tested the problem here I discovered it occured at frame count >896. It had nothing to do with the tape drive. It has to do with the import/export of the PAR.
