Trading 1000 for 2000???!!! What about my GENLOCK 1300, DIGI-VIEW plug in digitizer and the LIVE!/1000 I am interested in? Are any of those devices compatibles with A-2000? Also, is there now any VIDEO output board available for the A-2000: I do a lot of output to VCR with animations, etc… I will very much appreciate info. Roger

Roger, Genlock, DigiView and Live! (does that exist?) are not compatible with the A2000/500. I know of no video output board presently available for the A2000. None of the above is 100% positive…just what I have gathered from reading messages here in the Forum. Don

Does Live! exist?! Why don't you drop by your local dealer and take a look at it — I know he has one.

Steve, Hehehe…when did he get it? Last time I looked (Wednesday) he didn't have one…or at least he didn't show it to me (I'll have to "discuss" that with him <grin>). Don

It was there — you didn't look and he didn't mention it!

Roger, Of the three units you mention, only one (DigiView) will be usable with your A2000, and it will need an adapter (contact Newtek for details). The others should be out in A2000 versions eventually. Regards, Larry.

Not compatible. Thank you very much, CBM. Bunch of short-sighted toy computer makers. pinheads. –Ben–

Ben, Thanks for also sympathizing with our latest CBM induced plight! Anyway, I hate to think of trading up for the 2000 just to have a bigger box full of IBM compatibility potential; the only thing I am thinking of, are the future (mythical) FAT graphics chips: I use my 1000 mostly for video/computer interfacing: titling, animations-on-video tape, genlock effects…. I am also waiting for LIVE! As for the 2000, one apparently cannot even get a video output board yet!! Do you think the FAT chips would be adaptable to the 1000? Roger Thomas – 73557,552

I'm hoping that they will be — but that's worth absolutely nothing. Waiting for Live!, huh? Blue in the face yet? <smile> –Ben–

Don — how much is it? –Ben–

Ben, I heard a price somewhere in the $200 category…but wasn't paying attention….it's not a neat add-on…the video was poor…it maps contrast to absolute levels (rather than dithered levels) so the video ends up looking "posterized" or "solarized" if you are familiar with those terms from the photographic world.
