Ken: I borrowed a friend's P-6 and used the driver in question. Now I did not get to use it for a very complete test but the work that was tried worked just fine. It is a very nice printer. 73, bill

Thanks for the comment, Bill. It's been a bit confusing looking at printers, because one store will tell you one thing and another something different. One location of the same retail company, the staff told me the P2200 NEC was the "newer edition" of the P6 at a lower price with the tractor built in. At another location of the same company, the salesman told me the P6 was a much better machine… that he didn't like the P2200 because "If it takes longer than ten minutes to figure out a printer <read: he doesn't read instruction manuals>, I don't like the printer." He tried to demonstrate the front-loading sheet feeder, couldn't figure out how to do it, then said the P6 was much better. Based on what I've seen with output from the P6, I'd say it IS a good machine. So is the P2200 (altho it's not built as ruggedly). The only concern is–how well will the printer driver work on Workbench 1.3–and are 24-pin printers going to work well with the Amiga–especially in the graphics mode? ===Ken P.S. I've noticed that you normally leave messages with "73s" at the end. Are you by chance a HAM operator?

Ken: I would not suspect that there will be many problems with any printer that is currently working with the Ami when 1.3 comes out. Beside J0ergen is still around! Yes, I am a ham (KB7LX) as is Ben and several others. And you? 73, bill

No, I'm not a HAM, but my brother has been in ham radio for some time-his call is W3MR. ===Ken

Ken: You ought to give it a shot. Your have the best available computer for packet radio operation. 73, bill
