#24 Pin Printers Bad?

Larry, sorry I didn't see this message earlier, I have the Crispin Goswell
PostScript interpreter on Amiga format disks. I've tried compiling it under
Manx, and most of it went OK. There are a few easy things to fix. I suppose
you'll want to translate it to COMAL or assembler, right?
The tough part about these PS interpreters is that you need to have structured
fonts available for them, which means buying expensive Adobe or Bitstream
fonts. I don't know anyone with a structured font editor on the Amiga, do you?
🙂
For the Goswell PS, you need to write about 12 functions for the device driver,
things to initialize and manipulate bitmaps. I'm sure our blitter will speed
things greatly…
John,
No problem. I will have it in my hot little hands soon. Thre are apparently a
few structured fonts for it already, but I don't know if that will be part of
the stuff I get.
COMAL? Har! Not quite… at least not for this project. Assembler maybe, though
if so, it will probably be in the slower parts. 🙂
