1. What kind of "odd behavior" were (are) your Syquest's exhibiting?
2. What controllers were used, or present?

Lets see…. ancient history was never a good subject for me (like even
last month)!
The current "odd behavior" is that the drive in this machine sometimes
squeeks when spinning down. Other than that, on the GVP everything works
fine. I did have a bad time with the effects of changing proms on the GVP
card.
The Kronos would: Not recognize the drive at all, lock when attempting to
access the drive, format part of the drive and then lock, or even format
the drive and then not be able to read the platter later.
The 2091 was the most consistant of all the controllers…. it would almost
always complete the format successfully and then hang when trying to use
the disk.
The 2090 would not successfully access the drive at all (locked the
machine).
The Old C-Ltd controller accessed the drive ok on the A1K (to my shock and
surprise).
This envolves four different SyQuest drives.

It doesn't surprise me that the 209X series would have troubles with the
Syquest. That's another issue, however.
If you get a chance, try the Kronos again with the info I supplied in
the previous message. Like I said, the DEFAULT parameters that I got with
my Kronos – for the Syquest – were WRONG. With the proper parameters it
worked fine.
My new ICD also works just fine with the Syquest.

Someone else asked me about Kronos/Syquest information, so I uploaded
