#Razor for Windows
3 messages in this thread
I am considering buying Truespace by Caligari. A promo that came in
the mail offered Truespace, and editing program called RAZOR and a cd
of textures and models all for $499. The Razor program is an editor
for AVI files. Does anyone have any experience with RAZOR. I was
considerig upgrading to Premier 4.0.from version 1.1 Any comments on
Razor vs Premier 4.0? Would I be able to save a chunk of change
buying the Truespace bundle? Does Razor have the same features as
Premier 4.0?
I don't have any information on Razor vs. Premiere, maybe someone
else will help you there. I do think that the offer for TrueSpace
and the textures and models is a pretty decent one, however. Caligari
is a pretty well established 3D company and I think that you would be
happy with their product.
It is kind of hard to test drive 3D products at a dealers, just
because it takes so long to learn them, but you might at least take a
look at the manual for TrueSpace, Imagine, 3D-Studio, etc. to get an
idea of how you interact with the programs.
Razor PRO and Premiere 4.0 are very close. Calagari is a good entry-level 3D
Animation program, but can't begin to compare with 3DStudio (of course, it's
approx. $2000 less). But the problem with the bundle is that Razor 1.0 is
included and that version pales in comparison to Premiere 4.0. Razor Pro sells
for $800. Also, Truespace is available at Egghead for the same price!
