I'm going to add AMAX to my 2000. Do you know if it will work with a 2090a driving a ST506 Rodime (3055)? It works when the controller is in scsi mode but not sure about using this drive. any info appreciated.

Hi Yes it will run that drive with an A2090 Controller. You're lucky, I have a C-LTD drive that is not supported by the Amax Drivers. Ward

I have had difficulty getting my 2090A controller to work with the AMAX II software. It seems that AMAX needs the HDDISK.DEVICE file in the DEVS directory to work and this does not exist with the 2090A controller. I've called Readysoft but they couldn't help me. Does anyone have any ideas??

I think the HDDISK device is a file called simply HDDISK and resides in the EXPANSION drawer. Weird, I know. –Art

Douglas, the hddisk.device does not need to be in the devs directory, only the Amax drivere hddisk.amhd. I just got AMAXII to work with my A2090a controller. It did take me a while to understand that the name you use in your Mountlist for the Amax partition must start with AMAX. I kept labeling the partition SH1: in mountlist and then naming it AMAX?? when I formatted the drive. What AMAX needs however is for the partition name in mountlist to start with AMAX such as AMAX1 or AMAXHD. Hope this helps. George Brown
