Fred: Just to clarify, are you saying that connecting one of the
'Macrovision defeat' boxes between my VCR and the FrameGrabber should
enable me to make clean digitized images from prerecorded tapes with
MacroVision copy protection?

If the image is encoded with MacroVision (Check Verticl Interval) and
the "Black Box" you buy does remove it, then the images will be brighter,
not nessarrly cleaner – I whould use that term to describe Video Noise.
But should help with your contrast, especaly if other tapes not made on
your VCR are fine.
