#Brush And Things

Hi Ho:
Rick, I too have been having troubles with brush wrapping. I seem to have
noticed that brushes WrapX and WrapZ'ed seem to get very strange results.
But FlatX and FlatZ'ed object brushes seem to be wrapped. I am still
experimenting with that theory. Here is My question: are you supposed to
center the axis over an object,( Like in TS the axis acted like the frame
of the brush ) or center the bounding box over the object, and how deep,
along the Y axis, should your brush axis be. Point two: in 0.9 can you use
transparency I have yet to make it function at all. Last question ( for
today ): The manual says that FX will be separate. dose this mean sold
separate, or should we expect Explode with 1.0. Final note: I saw the
lightWave demo at AmiExpo At Disneyland, and the two programmes are very
close to the same idea. The main difference is That theirs cost $1600 but
it came wit a free Video Toaster. No, seriously, The fog function could
create Patchy clouds. like fling through a cloud bank. Since I have yet to
find a fog feature this might be a good Idea for one of the FX.
Thanks for listening to the Babble Brad Hayes
Brushes work exactly the way they did in TS. You MUST scale the Y axis to
1 for flat wraps to work properly. –Rick Sorry for the brief message, but
this line noise is driving me batty! BTW, Lightwave is QUITE different from
Imagine. I have had it for the last three weeks or so and it's not a
half-bad rendering system, but as a front-end, object modeler, it is sadly
lacking. –RR
Rick,
I'm fascinated to hear what you find lacking in LightWave 3D. I'm no
editing expert, but it certainly looked good! (Of course, you're the one
that educated me about Caligari's shortcomings as well; once you'd pointed
them out, they were obvious. I've simply never used anything but Silver
until now, and anything that looks interactive automatically gets me
excited!)
Karl
Karl, that's the problem with Lightwave. The animator is highly
interactive, but the modeler is a reworked Modeler 3D, which always left me
cold. –Rick
I got Transperency to work OK, but only when Shiny was completely OFF.
