Digiview & VCR

I started out with a fairly cheap ($900) GE Camcorder and I get paused it
on the scenes I wanted to digitize. Sometimes it takes trying to pause it a
few times to get the jagiies to show up on the bottom or top of the
picture. I must say it it VERY doable. Now I'm using a panasonic with a
digital freeze frame and the pictures look GREAT!!! But you can do it with
a pause on most camcorders and recorders, (at least 5 that I have tried) it
justs takes a little work and more time. I almost always cleaned them up in
Digi-Paint. If you want I can UL a couple of pictures I did with the cheap
camcorder uncleaned up on pause of Roger Rabbit, so you can check out how
they look. Vicky
Here's a thought. If I take a blank tape and my color wheel to a friends
house and set it up with his camera (which I can't borrow, hence the
effort) and video tape three images of something, red, etc… Then take it
home and play the tape into digiview…. Well, I wonder if it's worth
trying? Hopefully I'll get a chance to try soon, so I'll let you know!
Just a weird thought! P.S. Thanx for the info!! TTYL

I must have missed the beginning of this thread, but if you are using your
friend's color camera to make a tape, using a color won't buy you anything.
The color signals can be extracted from the tape to your Digiview by
plugging the VCR into a color splitter like the Sunrize splitter, and then
into your DigiView. Using a color wheel on the camera to make the tape
won't accomplish anything. Your Digiview is only going to see a b&w video
tape when you play it back, since it won't decode the NTSC color signals.

No, you missed my point I think. If I videotape from a color camera and
digitze then it will be b/w. But what if I hook up the color whDi
Hopefully, I'll try it soon. BUt I don't see why it wouldn't work. P.S. I
have a HamE for sale. Black Belt is online here if you have any questions.
I have posted in classifieds in Amigauser btw! Thanx and ttyl
