I'm using SID 1.06 — it definitely crashes (screen crash) on occassion
when it's reading directories. Probably because of a missing
forbid()/permit() combo somewhere.

Hmmm.. I haven't experienced a crash since I stopped using SID (when I
read your first message about it). However, I don't think I ever had a
crash while accessing the program, although most of the time, the program
was up and running. Very interesting…
