I recently downloaded a PD game called monopo.zoo – monopoly. Instructions in the doc file state that by clicking in the numbers gadget in the opening screen one can specify the number of people playing by deleting 0 and entering the proper number. This does not work and since you must do this you cannot get to the game itself. Is this game known to work? Does it only work on the 1000 or 512K machine? It was advertised in AmigaWorld so I assume it has worked for someone. Any help would be appreciated.

Lee, I remember playing the monopoly game, so I know that it works on an A500. I don't locate it right now to check, but, try both the Del key and the backspace key, or maybe just overtyping first and then deleting. I know that the game works. I found it quite enjoyable. Let me know if you still have trouble and I'll DL the game and check it out for you. Hope this helps. 8) David

Lee, I have played that game on both a 1000 and a 2000HD. I cannot recall the details, for it was a very long time ago, but it worked just fine for me. I don't think I have tried it with the '030 board, and I KNOW that I have not tried it with 2.0. But I know that it did work under 1.2 and 1.3, and on both the 1000 and the 2000. Betty

Thanks for your help. It was my error. I keep confusing the backspace key with the DEL key.

I'm just glad it was so simple! Have fun – it's a nice game. Betty

I found that the 'new' monopoly had a handful of "wierdies' associated with it; did not stack up to the OLD MONOPOLY which was written in ABasic back in about 1986 and which I still use – that one has the computed play three other players against you and they are tough when it comes to trading, etc… I have no idea where it resides, if at all, on CIS but might be able to upload if folks stand up resoundingly behind this quick review. – da

I did not play either enough to recognize that they were different. If they are not the same, I'm sure we'd love to have both. If the sysop who checked the uploads thought one was an update to the other, the older one would have been replaced with the newer, I'm sure. Betty
