I have an Amiga 2000 with a 2088 Bridge Card which lately has been giving me headaches. When I transfer a file using AWRITE characters get changed, for example test.txt becomes txst.dud or something like that.. I have tried all of the Awrite flags, and I have obtained new versions of the MS-Dos and Janus V.2.0 It still does not work.. Is their ANY diagnostics for the amiga 2000 & the bridge card?? I have tested the bridge card with Checkit ™ and all is fine, but the Amiga doesnt seem to have an equilivant program. I think I have a bad dual port ram.. Is that Resonable?? I am using Kickstart 1.2, Work bench 1.3.2 ver 34.28 PC Emulator Bios 3.4, and according to the pc dos screen I am using Janus Handler Version 2.63 & Janus Library Version 33.1.. My Janus version is supposedly 2.0 (the latest..).. Please help me, my local dealer and commoder have been totaly useless… Totaly USELESS!!! –Alan Russell

Alan, have you tried reseating your bridgeboard, making sure all of the contacts are clean? Betty

Yes, I cleaned the edge card with a pink erase, cleaned the zorro and pc slot with dielectric cleaner and switched sockets, also made sure all chips were well seated. alan

Alan, Then, yes…it does sound like you may have bad dual-port RAM. And no…there are no good diagnostic tools available. My only suggestion would be to try to reload the software to see if that could possibly help. Don

Have you made sure that both sides, the Ami AND the bb have the Janus 2 versions of all files? And didn't a whole bunch of us give these same suggestions a few days ago to you? Ron

Have you 1. reinstalled Janus 2 on both ami and bb sides, 2. removed anything left over from Janus 1, 3. removed your SIDECAR settings file and tried all again? Ron

Um… just on the offchance… are you using the binary cmd line switch when you copy??? otherwise, c/r and lf chars etc get munged. BBS->Williams.Ben[AA7AS]

I have tried both sets of flags.. Even if I had not tho, CR and LF's dont just happen in the middle of a word! –> ALAN
