Is amiga1500 released ?
I have heard some rumor about Amiga1500. It says, A1500 has released or
just announced to magazine at Europe.
Is that right ? or, have anyone any info about A1500 ?
The Amiga1500 was shown at a computer show in England in late September.
The news I had was from a Commodore owner who attended the show. He said
that the 1500 looked like an A2000, with two floppy drives installed, and
no cards in the slots. It was announced there that the 1500 would be the
low-end dealer machine, that all 2000's and upward will be sold only with
hard disks installed. No word on when they would be available. I have not
seen any kind of announcement about the A1500 in the U.S.

availability elsewhere.

I said it would be announced in the UK, United Kingdom, NOT the US next
week. The US has not made public any decisions on accepting it.

I see. Even in UK, not US, A1500 will be good news.
A1500 is essentially a kit. It's a brand new box wich separates the
keyboard like the A-1000….y [C [C [C
you can put the monitor on it. Price is 2,900 francs ( money from FRance)
It is described in a review called Commodore Revue in France
There is now an A1500 which is an actual new amiga from Commodore. This
is going to be VERY confusing. It is only available from CBM UK.

We are going to have nothing but confusion about the A1500, I think!! The
kit you mention has been selling for some time under that name. People
already know that by the name A1500. However, at a computer show in London
in late September, Commodore showed a new computer named the A1500.
According to the report sent me by a friend who attended the show, this
computer is built into a 2000 case, and comes with two floppy drives and
has 1M on the motherboard, along with the 1M Agnus chip. He did not tell
me about the slots, but I assume that they are available. He said that it
really looks like a 2000 except for the number on the front. Along with
this introduction, there was an announcement that all machines numbered
2000 and up will be shipped with hard disks in the future; only the A1500
will come without one. He assumed that the 1500 was to be offered to the
dealers as their low-end Amiga, and that the A500 will be put entirely in
the consumer market. Maybe they ought to re-issue the A500 as an
Amiga-compatible??
