The only thing I see that you are missing from your JRCOMM disk are the
actual JR-Comm files.
Boot up with the JRCOMM diskette.
Place the disk with the files extracted from the JRC101.LZH archive in
DF1:
Enter the CLI (in the SYSTEM drawer)
Type COPY JR-C#? DF0:
Type COPY JR-Ed#? DF0:
That should put the remaining files onto the boot disk. You can then
procede to setting up the terminal program.
I would recommend re-activating the Shell, and editing your
startup-sequence a bit. The WBStrip script kinda denuded it. <grin>
If you wish to do this, you will need to put a copy of the original
Workbench1.3 diskette in DF1:, enter CLI and type:
COPY DF1:c/prompt C:
COPY DF1:s/Shell-Startup
ED S:Startup-Sequence
Change the listing until it looks like this:
cd c:
setpatch r
setclock load
resident CLI L:Shell-Seg SYSTEM pure add
mount newcon:
copy sys:disk.info ram:
LoadWB
EndCLI >NIL:
Then hit the Esc key, then the X key. The new file will be written.
Reboot, and the shell will be active, the system patched (there are known
bugs which SETPATCH fixes), you get a better looking icon for the RAM disk
and everything should be in place to begin using this disk for your term
program.
Next project: Getting Whap! up and going. You can probably do most, if
not all of that by yourself by now! <grin>

I'm so close. Down to the last set of commands. The following line rejects
with bad arguments; COPY DF1:s/Shell-Startup I've gone through the Amiga
DOS book, but can't find what's wrong with it. Geez, you'd think after all
this I'd be able to figure it out myself.<G> Sorry.

You're real close, Jacquie, but you didn't tell it where to copy the file
to! <grin>
The command is COPY DF1:S/Shell-Startup S: (Thinking I may have forgotten
to write this in the last message, so it might be my fault.)

Ah, I knew it! Since I don't have full comprehension yet of what each item
in the command line means, I never would have picked that up. It's all so
simple, once you know what you're doing. It's just getting to that point.
Well, next time I'm here it'll be via JRCOMM. <G>(Ihope!)
