Hi there. I haven't been on for a while, but i'm back and i need some advice. I'm having trouble finding an un-archiving program to download to open some of the programs iv'e already downloaded. I'm new to all this and am not sure what i need (besides to start CAPATILIZING my solitary i's.) Oh, I was also told I need some kind of "viewing" program to see some pictures iv'e downloaded? As the little fly said…"help me, help meeee… (please) Thanx. jeff exit/ ex [D [D

Jeff: You'll find de-archivers in Lib 5 of Amiga User. ARC.EXE is for files that end in .ARC, ZOO.EXE is for files that end in .ZOO, and LHARC.EXE for files that end in .LZH. There are some ZIP files beginning to show up occasionally, but I've not dealt with any personally, yet. IFF viewers can be found here in Amiga Arts Lib, under Graphics Utilities, or some similar sounding title, I can't remember which Lib number, but there are several available. Browse on keywords SHOW, IFF and HAM, and you should see a selection. Oh yes, there is a useful program in Amiga User Lib 5 called ARCHLP.EXE which will tell you quite a bit about archivers and how to use them. Clint <VRLI>

Jeff, Look in AmigaUser forum, Library 5, for: LHARC.EXE to unpack the .LZH files ZOO.EXE to unpack the .ZOO files PKAZIP.??? to unpack the .ZIP files ARCHLP.EXE to teach you how to use most of these (an interactive tutorial) There are lots of good viewers for pictures in Library 14 of AmigaArts. My own favorites are SuperView and Mostra SV3.ZOO/B 14K 25-Sep-89 SuperView 3.0 — now handles animations MOSTRA.LZH/B 30K 21-Jul-90 IFF viewer – supports ALL formats – update Let us know whenever we can be of help.
