#BEWARE SHOMI CORP

TO ALL:
I have been waiting for three weeks for a product from the SHOMI Corp.
called the Cheeta.Today I was told that when you pay $1990 you have to wait
until they send it to you.I Prepaid the order three weeks ago today.Since
that time I have been promised a number of times that I would receive it.
The lastest info I was given was that the unit was not adequately
burned in.Maybe this is true, but these people have been holding my money
for three weeks. Before I left for Comdex I told them to send my money
back. They didn't.I told them today that I was disgusted and to send the
money back. I also asked them to send the unit to me COD when it was ready
then I was told that the price would be $2990 under those conditions.
BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!
This was supposed to be an introductory price.Today, I don't have
reason to believe that they are anything but B.S.At the very least they
don't have the common sense to tell you up front that they can't even guess
at a shipping date.At the very worst I'll never see the unit or my money. I
was told that they did a production run of 80,000 units. They cant send me
one?
Spread the word around BE CAREFUL !!! I was told that they would send
the unit within two days. They have MY money and they are doing just what
they want.I hope they aren't doing this to a lot of people, but then maybe
they don't care, maybe they do.If I had their product and they didn't have
MY money they would be all over me with lawyers. How come I don't get any
respect from them.(Forget the respect, send me the unit as promised).
They used an emotional sell on me.They even made arrangements to pick
up my certified check by Overnight courier. It is and has always been a very
unethical business practice to induce performance in a sales contract by
one party without equally swift performane by the other party.
I am real PO'd at them. Even if I do get the unit I will never forget
SHOMI CORPORATION.

Dennis,
I saw their ads and had bad feelings about them. I'd be interested in
knowing how you make out. Please keep us posted!

Dennis;
Yes, somewhat shabby treatment, but, not that unusual these days of over
or preselling product. A client is bringing the Shomi dual TBC/Framestore
for evaluation tomorrow. Our engineering dept. will check out its signal
handling and stability.
Let you know, Keith
