#Where's Manx???

Robert, if you think that a local BBS is more interesting than "Any of the
pay services", by inference this one (CIS), then I can positively conclude
that you have not gone around and looked at CIS worth a darn. There is more
to do, read, and think about here than you'd have time to do if you never
had to sleep, hang up the modem, and lived to be 200.
As fo the cost, yes – I agree. This is a very expensive service. It's also
the best service. As someone else just said, "You get what you pay for",
which I think is true for most commercial endeavors.
As for high-speed modems, that would be wonderful, of course. There are a
lot of us (including me) who have 9600 baud capability, and would love to
use it.

Ben,
CIS has 9600 baud service in 30 cities. It will be available system
wide within the next year.

Yeah? Hmmmmm…. care to tell me how to find out about it??? Long distance
to Denver isn't much (if any at all) different from LD to most anywhere
else… I have an HST – I suppose it's too much to hope for that they
support same?

Ben,
I'll see what I can find out. I didn't before cuz Denver isn't one of
the 30 cities now in service.
9600 baud service in 30 cities??? I've been griping at them for the last
three years just to give me 2400!!!
Peter,
Have you checked the PHONES section lately? They have been upgrading to
2400 baud by several places a week for a long time.
