I have an amiga 1000, which I would like to boost my chip ram in. I was told the only way to do this is by an internal process of adding the rejuvenator with a fatter agnus chip. Some of my friends told me I would be better off going to a 2000 or a 3000 machine. My problem is I have a lot invested in my 1000 and I have not had any problems with it. I have 3 megs of fast ram and a 52 meg hard drive on my system which is fairly new. Does anyone have any info on the rejuvenator and is it worth spending $400.00 on . Cal – via Whap!

Cal, The Rejuvenator is fantastic. You can now purchase it equipped with the 2MB Agnes (2MB of CHIP memory) and the ECS Denise. Plus it has a socket that will accept a 2.0KS ROM, and a video slot as well. It's very reliable, and helps some flaky 1000s behave a bit better. I had one for a while (I was forced to move up to Big Ugly, my A2000, due to the need to use more than 2 Zorro II cards, which is what I had in my ToolBox), and I was very pleased with it. …Denny Atkin

Denny: when you had your 1000, you had it setup with ECS denise, and the 2 meg agnus, right? Did you ever try and use the A1300 genlock with that setup, and did it work? I just bought a 1300 genlock to try and use it on my 2000 (with a 23pin extension cable) and on my machine (with ECS denise, and Megachip, 2.04 ROM) it doesn't seem to work at all. Using the same extension cable on a friends machine (A2000, old denise, 1 meg agnus, 1.3 ROM) the genlock works fine. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know what might be causing my problem? The exact problem is the RBG output from the genlock isn't there (just a black screen), and the same for the composite. -Mike Schiller In sunny Fort Lauderdale

Mike, I did have the ECS Denise, but only the 1MB Agnes. However, I didn't have access to a 1300 Genlock. Sorry. I really don't know what could be causing your problem.. Have you tried emailing Greg Tibbs? …Denny Atkin

1300 Genlock works fine with extension cable on an A2000 with 1MAgnus/ECS Denise and A1000 Rejuvenator with 2MB Agnus and ECS Denise. I bought two 1300 Genlocks at DevCon and both work fine. -Greg

I will say that I've noted that there have been a number of mods for the 1300 over the years. Early 1300 didn't like anything except video from cameras which is rock steady. VCR output broke it up horribly. My 1300s seem to work just fine with all types of video. pps: The A2000 may be having trouble powering the 1300 due to current limiting resistors in series with +5V and +12V out on the video connector on the A2000.
