Greg, Thanks for the detailed explanation :). I new there were differences between the 030 and 040 MMU's but never realised they were that extensive. It almost sounds like the 030 had a much better MMU setup than the 040. Well anyway, the BB works without ENFORCER because of the 040 library so I guess I am all set. I was kind of wondering why no FASTROM program had appeared yet for the 040 and your explanation is probably why. Thanks Again, Norm

I have a working Fastrom program, but it doesn't speed the system up much. I am modifying the code to be intelligent about the type of I/O cards in a system and setting the MMU tables accordingly. After that, I'm adding a KickRom option, but I need to learn about romtags and such. I also have a companion MMU040 program that pretty prints out the various registers of the 68040 MMU. It was required to spy on other program that might modify the MMU and help me learn to program the MMU. If anyone want to see this in its current state, let me know and I'll upload it. They are both 2.0 only. -Greg

Greg: Now that you've used the PP&S board for a while what are your thoughts. Has it been a worthwhile purchase from your point of view. Regards Charles

Greg, It may make more of a speed change in my machine as it is a 2000. The 2000 only has 24bit? ROM access vs. 32bit ROM access on the 3000. Every little bit helps :). As my old Hurricane board said "I feel the need, the need for SPEED." Yes, I would be interested in the MMU program!! I am using 2.04. Thanks, Norm

I'll try to get it uploaded today.
