#Imagine Chrome?
12 messages in this thread
Greetings, all. Can any Imagine gurus out there tell me if it's possible to
get a chrome-like surface out of Imagine? If so, can it be done in
interlaced HAM mode (I don't have a 24-bit card, sob). The best I've
managed to do is a mirror-like surface, but having highlights like
plastic(!).
Info appreciated.

I picked this tip by reading the Imagine Compendium. Steve Worley gave
these settings for Chrome:
Color 60 60 80
R 240 240 255
F 0 0 0
Sp 240 240 255
Dith 48
Hard 247
Rough 0
Shine 177
You might have to tweak this a bit, but this should give you a good start.
Good luck!
Steve
Ta muchly, Steve, I'll give it a go. The Imagine books haven't reached us
down here in NZ yet, but I'm hoping to find one when I go to LA.

Check the libraries for the Imagine Compendium….it's a great reference.
Did you ever find the missing installment of that series?
It's been there for a while…but since I don't have direct access to the
Internet, I'm working out the logistics of getting 'em. I'm going to get
everything (which is now 1-14, as of today), and reupload it all with
better descriptions within the next couple of days. It's going to take
some time, so bear with me. 🙂
Steve,
Any chance you can arrange for some of the Usenet Imagine objects can be
uploaded to the DLs here? (I don't have Usenet access, like many other
forum members)

There are a number of Imagine Objects available in the libary already. Have
you seen them?
Steve
Yes I have, but in reading the Imagine Compendium available in the
Libraries here, there seems to be a much larger number of Imagine objects
available on Usenet.
I was just hoping that someone with Usenet access could upload a
selection from their collection.
OK…I'll see what I can do about getting them. I just wanted to be sure
that you've seen what's available in the libraries.
Steve,
Thanks! I look foward to seeing a larger selection of Imagine objects
to "play" with. The images I've seen in Impulse's video are BEAUTIFUL.

Steve,
as long as you're looking into getting us some more Imagine objects off
Usenet… seems like Steve Worley has re-created, in Imagine, a semi-famous
Pixar scene and it's supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced
objects. <ducking> Would you mind terribly inquiring about that as well?
