#HELP – Plotter Drivers

I'm not sure if I've done this correctly, I don't generally spend a lot of
time in Compuserve and this is my first attempt at leaving messages in a
Forum, but my boss asked me if I could leave a message here to try to find
out which driver to use with a new plotter. If I've sent this message to
the wrong place, please help me out by forwarding it to the appropriate
place. Thanks.
Please tell me if any of the drivers in the standard driver set in AutoCAD
Release 10 will work with a Tektronics 4663 plotter, and if so, which one.
Our small business acquired this plotter through a buyout of another small
business. I don't know whether it has any emulation modes.
If none of the standard drivers will work with this plotter, is it possible
to special order one?

I just left a message for a gentleman looking at a 4662. Was the 4663
being used with AutoCAD? More importantly, what cabling is being used on
the plotter. The Tek plotter I played with only had an HPIB (Hewlett
Packard Interface Buss) connector (called GPIB for General Purpose on the
Tek machines) on it and couldn't plug into any of the DOS machines that we
were using.

Thanks for your reply. I know relatively little about the plotters
current configuration. It's connected to a 386 Clone through a serial
port. It's previous use has been through a UNIX operating system which is
installed on a 20 Meg partition of the hard drive, but I'm sure that if
UNIX can access the plotter through the serial port, DOS should be able to
address it. I'll work on getting more specific information (i.e. pin
ins/outs) and try to get back tonight (Monday 11/25/91). Thanks again.
