I know they're out there for R10, and since I've used them in two
different offices and I know they came from two different sources, they
must have come from DCA/Softdesk.

Any copies you saw must have been created in house. It doesn't really take
that long if you start with the one provided with AutoCAD. We tried a
couple of times to get a copy from DCA/Softdesk and got shot down each
time.

Au Contraire, these were of the same laminated plastic material that the
AutoCAD menus were. They were too professional to be in-house products.
Besides, I was responsible for bringing DCA in-house so I know WE didn't
make them. I just can't remember if they came shrink wrapped with the
software or were sent to us after we registered our ownership.

I'm curious about your statement that you were responsible for
"bringing DCA inhouse". Was it difficult to convince management, or was it
just obvious? What software were you using before?

I wanted a much more powerful program that was limited to HP equipment at
the time. We had been using PacSoft but really couldn't endure the teething
problems they were having trying to tie everything together. Management
wanted a DOS solution and DCA was the only obvious choice at that time. I
haven't regretted it.

Whoa! This thread started out about whether or not DCA supplied the
>>DWG<< for the tablet, not whether they supplied the laminated plastic
thingy (nice technical term on my part <g>) to go on the digitizer. My
point has been that DCA does not make the DWG available to users. If you
want a different looking tablet, you have to make your own. The laminated
copies are sent out only with the COGO module for R11, since it is required
by every other civil module.

Dennis – 'scuse me for jumping in in the middle of this… are you looking
for DCA templates? I gots a slew of them, certainly for Release 10 and, I
think, for Release 11 too.
They came with the software; there's the standard overlay and underlays for
Landscape and Civil.

My mistake, drawings were wanted, not actual templates.

I think your inquiry was DCA Civil tablet drawings? They're definitely
available from the Softdesk BBS. Your dealer can get them…
