Mark – .PWL is a lock file lock file (and that's not double talk). It
normally exists only briefly, as AutoCAD initializes the graphics screen,
to protect the .PWK file which has locked the .PWD file. Evidently your
users' computers crashed at the precise moment that the .PWL file existed,
so it remained on their hard drives.
Jeff,
Thanks for the help… For some reason, however, I've been having
alot of problems with AutoCAD on the network (Novell). We have about 20
people using AutoCAD from a Novell server. In the past couple weeks I've
gotten calls every other day about the PWD file. I get onto the server,
and the PWK file is gone (?). I have the user logout, then log back in,
and everything seems to be ok (for a while). Really can't put my finger on
what's going on here…
