I am configuring a Sun Sparc2 Server. Sun OS 4.1.something. AutoCAD R10.
The R10 is because we also have 10 Vaxstations and AutoCAD is only
available in R10. To control the plotters (a JDL 850, a HP7600 E-size
electrostatic, a HP Draftmaster and a HP Laserjet III using plotter in a
cartridge) we have) on the VAX stations reconfigured AutoCAD to change
plotters. This is so the users are not required to issue an OS command.
When we reconfigure AutoCAD now, the current user becomes owner of the file
and no one else con reconfigure at that system. Any suggestions? Also,
could I use an ADI driver for the HP7600. I mean, is the a compiled version
available for Sun OS? Any /etc/printcap suggestions would be appreciated.
Each user should have their own copy of acad.cfg_hostname. One user should
not be able to reconfigure another's hardware. Set the environment
variable ACADCFG to point to each users home directory like so:
setenv ACADCFG ~
in the C-shell script file that you use to invoke AutoCAD or in the user's
cshrc file.
Release 11 for the Sun comes with an ADI driver for the HP 7600 e-stat. You
can use DXFIX for the Sun to strip R11 files to R10.
