Hi, Perry….sorry to be late in responding. Question is this. I have been
using CED Pro2 for several months now and generally very pleased with it.
However, I cannot launch the main program from cold using Ed. Only way I
have found is to include ced -r in my Startup-Sequence and then it works
fine. But the manual, on page 11, states that "…there are no cases where
you could not invoke CED by double-clicking on ED." So what am I doing
wrong?

Where are you placing CED?

CED is in my C: directory.
Well, that should work….if you do use CED -r in your startup, it will
work without fail. I think “ed'' is guilty of changing and perhaps a
subsequent version stopped being as general.

Well…it does work, but if the manual is not going to be changed, there
are going to be a lot more puzzled users: and puzzled users end up being
disgruntled customers. Don't you think you had better have a word with
someone in the maual writing department?

I've just got the most recent version (2.12) of CED, & found that, as you
say, ED has changed: it appears to be identical functionally to the old (ie
version 1 ED), although it is not absolutely identical (a few bytes
different in size). I found this a major bugbear, since it doesn't support
the -sticky option – which I NEED. Currently I'm using the version 2.0 ED
along with the 2.12 CED, & all seems to be well (OK ASDG, now tell me what
horrible consequences this could have ??).
