#DAK CD-ROM

I've asked people on the Midi forum, maybe I can get some ideas here:
I am trying to record music playing on my DAK CD-ROM connected to my Sound
Blaster Board. I am using an attenuating cable from the headphones of the
CD-ROM to the recording port of the SB board. Any thought to why the music
is so noisy with static and I can bearly hear the music in the first place.
Everyone says this is possible and the results are generally good, but I've
yet to find success in this. Help!
Question #2: I've yet to find a use for the RCA jacks on the back of the
DAK CD-ROM, I thought they were for recording, but nothing comes out of
them no matter what I play. Any thoughts?

The RCA jacks on the back of the drive are the stereo line outputs . These
are the outputs you should be connecting to the line inputs of your tape
recorder because they offer the correct output level. The headphone jack
is designed to drive headphones only — you'd have a mismatch if you tried
to record from the headphone jacks.
I record this way all the time and it sounds great. If you use DAK's
programmable music launcher you can make tapes from CDs easily. Forget
trying to record through the sound blaster.

Bryan, I've tried recording from the RCA jacks in the back I am not getting
anything. What could I be doing wrong? I can record from the speaker jack
fine. I like DAK's CD music player, any thoughts to have a Windows 3.0
version?

Before you try recording from the RCA jacks, first try just running those
outputs into your amplifier to make sure they work. I can't think of any
other reason they wouldn't work. You might also unplug anything from your
headphone jack.
Larry Payne, the author of the programmable music launcher, is supposedly
working on a Windows version as we speak.

I don't have an amp., I plug it in directly from the RCA jacks into the
in-line RCA connection on my portable stereo.
