I'm selling the following Amiga items:
1) A2232 (7) serial port card ….. asking $200
2) Amiga UNIX, same as the A3000UX, B3J version ….. asking $250
3) PP&G Framegrabber, real time HAM color video frame grabber … asking
$150
4) Mimetics 24-bit color real time frame grabber ….. asking $200
5) Amax II, cart, real 128K Mac Rom's, version 2.0 SW ….. asking $1000

I am interested in the UNIX.. How does it work? Does it have a TCP/IP
implementation? Also, what are min requirements for hardware to run it?

I guess the UNIX works fine from what I've read. Yes, I believe it has
TCP/IP, but you'll need to get a network card, also FTP I believe. You'll
need a 150Mb SCSI tape drive to load the system though, and I think you
need an A3000 w/ 6Mb RAM, and 80Mb of free HD space.

Are you registered with ReadySoft? If so, could I get you to
update it to the 2.5 version – I would pay for it.
I'm thinking about maybe one of the framegrabbers, will let you know on

mail (or fax) a copy of it with a request to set you up as the registered
owner. I did this when I bought my first A-Max (used) and they ReadySoft
handled it without question.

The UNIX is Version B3J (Beta 3J) which was shipped with the A3000UX until
9 month (or so) ago. But from what I understand now Commodore no longer
makes the A3000UX, but simply sell the UNIX by its self. Are you
interested in the UNIX?
Not particularly, I'm afraid. I just never saw "B3J" associated with any
version of SVR4….

The B3J was the version released with all A3000UX machines up until about a
year (or less) ago. This version works great! And the price of $250
reflects that of an older version. The new version 4.x will cost $1000.
Anyway this is SVR4 UNIX version, just commodore version 3.x.

Where are you getting your version numbers from? B3J is a BETA version of
Commodore's SVR4 Unix. The first shipping version of Unix was 1.1, and the
current version is 2.1. So where do you get a version 4.x from? BTW, the
proper version number of your Unix would be something like 0.B3 or 0.93B
or something like that, so your version of Unix is fairly old, and might
be more expensive to upgrade to the current 2.1 than release 1.1 is,
although I don't know for sure.

Sorry about the confusion. Yes the UNIX version is SVR4 and the commodore
version is Beta 3J (that's what's on the TAPE). All I can say is that I
purchased it about a year ago from Commodore and I was under the
understanding it was the current version shipped with the A3000UX. Yes, my
mistake on the 4.x current version, its 2.1. If you'd like I could send it
to you, and if you like it you can pay for it, otherwise send it back. I
just don't have a use for it and though someone else would like to use it.

Unfortunately I already own 1.1, and even though I bought my machine well
after 2.1 was shippinf, they still want $500.00 to upgraded to the
newest!

Do the framgrabbers also do genlocking???
Do you need a 24 bit video card to use the 24 bit framgrabber?

No, the framegrabber does not have a genlock, but it will work with a
genlock I had the framegrabber in my system working with a genlock. The
24-bit framebuffer does not need a 24bit video card, but uses a composit
color output. If you have any more questions, or want to make an offer

I am interested in the UNIX, but I have a 2000 with a 2620, I'll have to
check and see if this combo will work!

I have a disk which will load the system on an A2500, which sounds like

Your machine will NEED to have Commodore's A2091 SCSI controller in order
to use their Unix. You should also have 8 megs of memory so it can run
with anything even close to preformace.
