I tried two NEC 3FGx monitors for my A500 with FFV2 before giving up on them and going to a Sony CPD1304S. Both of the NECs had SEVERE convergence problems that resulted in large portions of the grey WB background having a blotchy brownish look. Two separate reviews of the NECs in PC Magazine also mentioned convergence problems. You might also find their Invar shadow mask to be a bit distracting too as it gives a sort of grainy look to to the display at times. The FGx series can be adjusted to eliminate the screen borders, but I didn't think the focus at the edges of the screen was good enough to take advantage of this feature. My Sony comes about an eighth of an inch on each side short of filling the screen. The NECs look like they have a great deal of potential, but if you decide to buy one be sure to preview the exact unit you will be buying before you take delivery since they appear to have some serious quality control problems. Roy – I've used a 6FG with the 3000 VGA port and it looks great! The monitor controls allow complete elimination of the black border and I haven't noticed any convergence problem or de-focusing at the corners. The two sets of connectors allow me to hook up the Amiga to the VGA and the Mac to the BNCs and switch between them from the front of the monitor. I'm probably not as fussy as some people, but I am very satisfied with this monitor, as are several other people that I know. However, I still recommend that you try before you buy, even if you have to take your computer to the store to test it. None of the Amiga stores in my area are willing to show an Amiga connected to anything but a Commodore monitor??? – Charles
