Thanks Matt – and if you find any legitimate copies for sale at $600, maybe you could give the guy MY number, because at that price, I'm buying! When I said that I would take offers, $600 isn't quite what I had in mind. Good luck finding what you're after. Doug.

Doug, don't listen to any of these wise guys <g>. They are worth at least what you're asking, or within $100 – $200 of that. Hold out for somebody serious and try your local papers. We have one in LA,Ca called the Recycler for free ads to buy, sell, swap almost anything and I know someone who got $1800 for 3ds2, no problem, and might have got more. Keep looking and good luck. Martin

Thanks Antonio – that's in the range that I'm interested in. I' I'm on a drill job in the field all week, but I'd like to talk to you when I get back to Toronto on Monday. I'll e-mail you then, or if you want, you can email me your phone number. Or you can call me; my numbers are 416-847-0065 (at work), or 416-897-0212 (at home). Cheers, Doug Ritcey

Thanks for the advice Martin – actually, I came up with the figure of $2000 after seeing packages sell between $1800 and $2200 – I thought $2k would be a happy medium. Thanks also for the info about the Recycler – I'll check it out. Living in Toronto, the extent of my exposure to L.A. activities is pretty much limited to reruns of Beverly Hills 90210. I understand that you're somewhat familiar with my new system – let me know if you need some rendering time on it, and I can run some files for you when I get it set up. Maybe this way its loss won't leave too much of a void in your life! Cheers, Doug.

Doug, So you are the guy who bought Mark Brandt's system. That's great! I will miss the potential use of it and especially the diaquest card which Mark had been lending to me on a long term basis. I'll have to find an alternative to the diaquest or just have other folks lay stuff to tape for me when the need arises. If a really large project comes along I hope to purchase a decent vtr or even a Sony LVR3000 (recordable laser disk). Have fun with the new system. Martin

Sorry Martin – Mark said you might nobe too pleased about losing it! I've got Acad & 3DS already – hence the reason for the want ads. I guess the next step is to figure out a way of scrounging up cash for a VTR to go with all this fancy equipment; you won't be the only one thinking about that kind of investment. doug.
