#Falcon 3.0 for Amiga
4 messages in this thread
All,
Please take part in the petition to get Falcon 3.0 ported (WRITTEN) TO
the Amiga. It seems I hit a raw nearve at Spectrum Holobyte. They think
were're all over zealous snooty snobs that can't realize our machine is
facing extinction. That comes from AXEL in the Game Publishers forum.
Please keep EMailing me those names. Between CIS an GEnie and my own
contacts the influx of names has been quite impressive. If nothing else
we could show them how much money they stand to lose.
The key is to ask friends who own Amigas also. There just isn't enough
of us here on CIS or on the other systems to do it. I have begun to put
fliers up at Amiga dealers and Software houses on Long Island. Only
problem is there aren't that many here. Hit local BBSs' and user groups
and send all names to me. One sugestion I think will really help is if
you include what type of system these people have.
I know this quest is far fetched. All this trouble for a stinking game
ain't worth it. I, however just want to make a point. Most software
publishers market games to Amiga owners thinking there isn't enough of us
to buy it anyway. This is mainly an experiment because by the time we get
some action out of SH, Microprose would have already released F-15III with
its AGA support. Then we probably will all forget what Falcon 3.0 is.
Remember if this works for Falcon, mabe it will work for LOTUS!

Peter,
The other trouble is that many game publishers who do prot games to the
Amiga aree so used to going "direct to hardware" that they do it in the
Amiga too. They do not take advantage of the special graphics chips in
many cases, and when ADos changes versions the games break because CBM
guidlines were not followed in the first place. Given those observations,
I've always wondered why people still insist that the Amiga is a game
machine?
