Is there a converter to get from a .TGA image to a mesh object or at least a compatible 2-d shaper file. I have a matted image of a dog saved as a .TGA file that I want to make into a 3-d object. Help is appreciated… Larry Blume Calico Films

Larry, You could set up the .tga file as a background in the 3d editor and then go to the 2d shaper and view the background as a proxy. This should give you the outline of the dog and allow you to trace it with the create/line or freehand tools. This only works in release 2 and above. Also Coreldraw has a utility called coreltrace which will attempt to automatically trace an image. You can then export this as a .dxf file and import it into the 2d-shaper. Good luck. Martin

thanks for the advice. Seems like lots of work, but what isn't with 3-d stuff! Larry
