#Animations to Tape
4 messages in this thread
With our transition to Animator Pro from the original Autodesk Animator we
have lost our in-house ability (a cheap VGA to NTSC convertor)to go to
video tape. We really are pleased with the improvement in resolution but
now that we have created presentations for the client, we have to be able
to record them to tape.
I have looked in the yellow pages and made some calls, but no one seems to
have any experiance using the Flitape utility. Please give me some advice
on what to ask for when i look for someone who can provide video recording
as a service.
Tom:
Flitape is only used for frame-by-frame animation of flis to video. To use
it, you need to have a frame-accurate tape deck / laser recorder,
controller for same, and proper drivers. Unfortunately, there is no
'cheap' way to get this done.
However, the results are spectacular compared to live recording. The
animations are EXTREMELY smooth, with no jerks or tears whatsoever. It
takes a bit more time, the exact amount depending on what machine / tape
deck combo you're using, but the results are worth it!

Wayne:
Flimaker is included with Animator Pro.
