Hi folks! I'm looking for some tips on creating a box with rounded corners around I logo I have in Animator. What I'm trying to do is have the box draw over a series of 40 frames, starting with a single point centered above and below my logo, and drawing itself around. Right now I'm creating it frame-by-frame, but you guys must know some tricks to do it easier. So, what are they <g>? Thanks for any help! Bill

Bill try this witches brew: Make a cel that is the width of your like (like a fat dot) with the background the key color (so it is transparent). Use optics. Select the cel as the object to move. Make a path that is the shape of your box. Set up a segment of frames (try this out on a "scratch" flic first). Watch the motion of the "dot" to make sure it is what you want. Then render it. Then give the FLIC the TRAILS effect (to show all the dots from the earlier frames). If the dots all overlap this is satisfactory. Or, increase the number of frames so that they do (and then use a macro to delete all but every 3rd or 4th frame). This method works real well for straight lines where you can increase the "length" of the cel to make sure it overlaps between frames. Another approach: work backward – draw your finished box, then erase it over 40 frames and then reverse the FLIC – this may be faster, easier, and it works for complicated shapes. Or put the finished box on the swap screen and work forward using the scrape ink. Chuck Jameson Silver Tongue Software

Charles, Those are both good ideas, I'll give them a shot. Thanks! Bill
