I recently downloaded the "GPFAX.LZH" update archive and tried to apply the patch to my "V2.01 (2.5.92)" version of GPFax, but LPATCH reports my version of GPFax as being an "incorrect version"? Real World:southern Illinois,USA Internet:ca0008 at siucvmb.siu.edu

I think there were several patches to the GPFAX software available. I'll see what I can do about getting another patch online here ASAP. Steve

Steve, Thanks for the feedback. I didn't even know that there had been an upgrade to GPFax until I saw the "upgrade archive". I look forward to being able to use the new features. Real World:southern Illinois,USA Internet:ca0008 at siucvmb.siu.edu

Jim, I d/l'd the update from a local BBS. Did you first convert with 'lpatch -oNEW -psupra.pch gpfax' for V2.04, then with that verson convert to V2.041 with "lpatch -oNEW2041 -psupra2041.pch new'? I don't recall any problems, Supra's Tech Support here is 76004,565. Joe Maulucci >>> AP ENGAGED

Joe, Hmm – no – I only tried the one update (V2.041?) that was posted here. I did not have a prior "V2.04" upgrade. Maybe that is what the problem is? Real World:southern Illinois,USA Internet:ca0008 at siucvmb.siu.edu

Jim, Take another look, there are two patches: 1) Supra.pch (use this one first) 2) Supra2041.pch Don't forget to first read the "readme" file, these patches are for the version released with the Supra Fax Modem not for the generic release. Joe Maulucci >>> AP ENGAGED

Hmm – I didn't get GPFax with my SupraFAXmodem – I purchased it seperately. I did read and follow the patch readme instructions. I may have the "generic" version. Oh well – I will wait to hear more from Supra before getting too worried. Real World:southern Illinois,USA Internet:ca0008 at siucvmb.siu.edu

Hi, I was just on the Supra BBS last night and got this bit of information. The current GPFax patches available are _betas_ and not yet approved by Supra for use with their new ROM's. I would hesitate to apply any of these patches if you own a SupraFAXModem until the dust settles from the testing of GPFax and the new Supra ROM's. Supra stated they were working with the authors of GPFax and will announce the _approved_ patch as soon as it ready on their BBS. The Supra BBS # is 503-967-2444. Beware…have your original GPFax disk handy because the approved patch may not work with some of the 'patched' versions. Hope this helps, Jeff
