Since my last message and cry for help, I have found some references to the Horseshoe Dam locality in Minerological Record. Unfortunately, I don't have the issues that contain the references. They are Volume 11, page 261 (1980), and Vol. 14, p. 115 (1983). Would someone who has one or both of these issues take a look-see at them and let me know if it contains the specifics for collecting zeolites at the Horseshoe Dam site? Thanks. Nathan

Hi Nathan, It looks to me that the best reference in the MR is Vol. 14 #2 p. 115-117. This article by David Shannon of Mesa, AZ has a map, four nice photographs, & a view from the Verde River looking towards the roadcut and basalt boulders of the natrolite area. There seems to be two distinct areas of interest to the mineral collector: the natrolite and the herschellite areas. Other minerals to be found are apophyllite, okenite, gyrolite, calcite, analcime, gismondine, phillipsite and saponite. Nathan, I think I will go to the zerox place tomorrow & make a copy of both references for you, and snail mail to you. Cheerz, Rod

Hi Rod! I now have to leave today for Phoenix, so the snail mail won't get to me in time. I will try to telephone you today. I have your numbers, I believe, from the FMS directory. Thanks for your help. Nathan
