still cannot get GPFax supra fax software to work. crashes everytime I try
to print a fax to the preferences driver of Pagestream 2.2 as supra…
instructions say to do. supra doesn't not return my calls to tech…
support and is never available by phone. also got new roms for supra fax
modem v.32 14.4kbaud and now my modem can't connect at 2400 baud on
compuserve's line. just about ready to give up on supra v.32 14.4 kbaud and
just buy a fax machine standalone. wish supra would help. anybody out
there able to get pagestream docs to become supra faxes? anybody out there
try the 'new' supra roms? anybody out ther want a supra v.32 14.4K modem
real reasonable???
You might also try dropping a note to SUPRA in their forum, in case they
don't see it here. (They do read this forum, though).

I recently got GPFax and have not had any trouble getting PageStream to
print. You've probably already thought of this, but what are your memory
stats? I've had experience with past versions of PageStream that it isn't
too careful about allocating memory, though the current version hasn't
caused me any problems in this area. I also just got the ROMs and have not
had any problems there either (though it hasn't fixed the problems I'm
seeing trying to upload – I get transmission errors all the time).
Remember, you don't select the "gpfax.driver" in your Workbench
preferences, leave your normal selection there. In PgS, go to the Global
menu, Configure Printer, Load Driver, select Preferences, then OK your way
back to the doc. Select Print, set your density (1-4 for normal, 5-7 for
fine resolution), and print. Works fine for me.

I don't have the new Supra ROMs or Pagestream. With the original ROMs I'm
on line here at 9600bps no problemo, though. There are beta patches to
GPFax (both generic and Supra versions) that might help, but they are not
yet sanctioned by Supra. You could try 'em.

I have been able to get GPFax to convert and send a PGS 2.2 document. I
don't think I did anything special. It worked before and after I got the
new ROMs. I am able to connect at 9600 to CIS but haven't tried it at 2400
yet. Of course that would be a different phone number. I have not tried to
print any faxes yet.

Yup, I installed the new Supra ROMs a few days ago. This evening I put
the old ones back in :-(. The 9600 CIS connection is (and always has been)
np problemo. As in your case, the new ROMs won't connect to CBMNET at 2400.
They also lock up trying to access CIX at 14.4k. When I say lock up, I mean
even +++ ATH won't get through. You have to power off to put the phone
down.
To be fair (and this is me trying VERY hard to be optimistic), the 14.4
operation is more reliable. They lock up reliably 100% every time, when
previously they would sometimes downshift, and forcing a 9600 connection is
reasonably reliable.
It's a bit much, though, when you can only run at 2/3 full speed,
connected to other V32bis modems.
I haven't tried any faxes yet. Looks like it was a good move.

I have used the FAX software to send pages from ProPage. I just started
GPFax, iconified it, ran ProPage and printed. The GPFax driver came up in
the requester automatically and away it went. One thing the manual is
very specific about is not trying to install the GPFax driver as a printer
type driver, just leave it alone.
I haven't tried to connect to CIS at 2400 yet, but I have yet to encounter
any problems connecting at 9600 or at 14.4k on local boards. What are
your hardware, software, and modem configurations?
