Thanks for your help. What? You don't do games! Shame on you! You got the
best computer to do them on if so choose.
I don't have those problems, but I do seem to get that Green screen when
the system crashes because the 1 Meg I have gets all used up. Looks like
I'm going for the ADRam, unless this new ROM gets out for the SupraRX.
Just no time to play games. Not enough time to do the other things I
want to do with the Amiga.
The ADRAM I believe, limits you to a total of 6 Megs with the daughter
board. I have a total of 5 Megs at the moment and can expand to 9 Megs
but so far haven't had the need to. To ad any more RAM, I have to ad four
more Megs at one time. In other words, the Supra Ram500RX will allow you
to have 1, 2, 4 or 8 Megs in it, depending on the type of RAM. It is ICD's
AdIDE /40 that needs the new ROM. The last word I had on it is that it
might be ready before Christmas.
Yes I do know about the ADIDE rom. I am a past owner of a Supra RX, and
consider this before expanding beyond 2 Megs: the power supply of the A500
becomes overworked with memory expansion past 2 megs. Get the power pack
for the RX. It'll save you troubleshooting in the future. ICD said it'll be
a $40 upgrade when the new AdIde board is ready.
I don't have any power supply problems. A friend modified a 150W XT
power supply for me before the Hard Drive was installed. It sure is nice
not having to worry about power consumption.
