#AMax II and A 4000
5 messages in this thread
Hi,
has anybody any experience in getting AMax II up and running on an A 4000?
I have the A-Max II Cartridge and tried to install both A-Max versions 2.50
and 2.0x. The old 2.0x software does not even bring up the configuration
screen and crashes some secondes after starting. 2.50 seems to run on 3.0
but crashes the machine as soon as I start the emulation.
Anyway, I seem to need a special .amhd file for the A 4000's IDE controller
– scsi.amhd from my 2000 obviously does not recognize the IDE partitions.
Who can help?
Thanks in advance, Hannes Ruegheimer
Sounds like you might want to call ReadySoft and get v2.51 of their
software.
As for the IDE.amhd, sorry, can't help you there. :^(
(Maybe ReadySoft knows? Phone # 416-731-4175)
Good Luck, and tell us if you get it working.

P.S. Enough people have run it using 040s to make me think its more
related to the AGA chipset than a CPU conflict.
P.P.S. You'll need Mac OS 7.0.1 to take advantage of your 040.
I called Ready Soft after experimenting the same problems with AMAX on a
A4000 and they told me that they were aware of the problem (it does not
work) and that they will come up with a fix as soon as they can get there
hands on a A4000… but let me tell you that they still haven't fix the
68040 compatibility problems thay have with both Fusion Forty and GVP
A2000-040. Fusion Forty incompatibility was first reported to them at
least 6 months ago!! 🙁
Good to hear in a twisted sort of way….I cant get mine to work with a
Fusion Forty and have been told that they do work together. DA
No, they do not work together!
