Louis,
I would love to help you out, but I am afraid I must profess my ignorance in
this matter. What is a SIRD? and how do you get one from 3D Studio?
-Brian
sird is single in-line? random dot stereograph…..you know a magic eye picture
a 3d-random dot thingy!
So can you help…..I am so far at my wits end….where next?
Louis
Hi Louis,
<< where next? >>
Puerto Rico. There's a product called Quick 3D that will turn AniPro or 3D
Studio images into those stereograms.

Hi Louis,
<< get it quick..>>
Call the number in Puerto Rico. The developer is on Compuserve often and visits
this forum regularly and the office speaks English.

thanks!
If you do a library search on the keyword STEREO, you will see a few examples.
Also, check out the white paper below.

Title: Making CrystalEyes Stereo Images Within 3DSr3
Keys: CRYSTAL CRYSTALEYES STEREO STEREOGRAPHICS
This file contains a "white paper" on how to produce CrystalEyes compatible ste
completely from within 3DS r3. Also contained are .3DS and .VP files so that y
import them into your animation project and away you go!. Demo TGA files refer
"white paper" are in CRYTGA.ZIP (also uploaded). This shows just one way to do
and we are working on even easier and more effective ways.
thanks, but a crystal eyes image aint it!
I need a RDS…you know the kinda thing?
one that dont use glasses…either electronic or red and blue plastic…even
sparkly twinkly <BG>
Thanks anyway for the help!…I will keep searching, apparently there is a prog

Brian,
Single Image Random Dot stereogram.
Bruce
Hello Louis.
There is a program called RDSGEN in GRAPHDEV forum. It creates SIRDs
from GIF or TGA images. In order to get the needed depth field you can
change the materials of your scene to default white adding a pure white
255 ambient light. After that you stablish Near camera range and Far
camera range to be the closest and the farest distances in your scene.
Go to render/setup/atmosfere and choose -distance cue- with near 0.0%
far 100.0% . Rendering with these you can get a nice depth map. There
are better methods with release 4.0 Z plane and ipas 4.0 but this method
I am telling you works also with release 3.0
Good luck!

Hello again!
I forgot to explain that the ambient light has to be the ONLY light.
-Javi
cheers, but I did it!…see the message board.
thanks
