Louis, I would love to help you out, but I am afraid I must profess my ignorance in this matter. What is a SIRD? and how do you get one from 3D Studio? -Brian

Hi Louis, << where next? >> Puerto Rico. There's a product called Quick 3D that will turn AniPro or 3D Studio images into those stereograms. Quick3D P.O. Box 366265 San Juan PR 00936-6265 809-751-5732

If you do a library search on the keyword STEREO, you will see a few examples. Also, check out the white paper below. File Info for CRYSTL.ZIP Section: Autodesk 3D Studio Contributor: 70323,3375 Size: 10031 Submitted: 4/22/94 Type: Binary Accesses: 198 Title: Making CrystalEyes Stereo Images Within 3DSr3 Keys: CRYSTAL CRYSTALEYES STEREO STEREOGRAPHICS This file contains a "white paper" on how to produce CrystalEyes compatible ste completely from within 3DS r3. Also contained are .3DS and .VP files so that y import them into your animation project and away you go!. Demo TGA files refer "white paper" are in CRYTGA.ZIP (also uploaded). This shows just one way to do and we are working on even easier and more effective ways.

Hello Louis. There is a program called RDSGEN in GRAPHDEV forum. It creates SIRDs from GIF or TGA images. In order to get the needed depth field you can change the materials of your scene to default white adding a pure white 255 ambient light. After that you stablish Near camera range and Far camera range to be the closest and the farest distances in your scene. Go to render/setup/atmosfere and choose -distance cue- with near 0.0% far 100.0% . Rendering with these you can get a nice depth map. There are better methods with release 4.0 Z plane and ipas 4.0 but this method I am telling you works also with release 3.0 Good luck! -Javi

Hello again! I forgot to explain that the ambient light has to be the ONLY light. -Javi
